The Opportunity

EPCOR Utilities partnered with Dynacor to modernize their onboarding process by developing a custom online safety orientation training program. The goal was to deliver consistent, accessible, and engaging safety training to new employees and contractors across their operations.

EPCOR needed to transition from traditional classroom-based orientations to a flexible digital format—without losing the effectiveness of instructor-led delivery. They also required the training to meet strict safety standards and reflect EPCOR’s internal policies and procedures.

The Solution

Dynacor partnered with EPCOR Utilities to transform traditional onboarding into a modern online safety orientation program that delivers consistent, engaging, and effective safety orientation training for both employees and contractors.

The original text-based materials were converted into a dynamic, one-hour online course designed to ensure key safety messages are heard, understood, and retained. To make the training relatable and visually authentic, our team worked with EPCOR subject matter experts to capture real site imagery and develop custom training environments that reflect actual working conditions.

The course was crafted with a conversational tone and clear, accessible language. A strategic blend of expert-led video, high-quality graphics, and animation created an immersive learning experience that reflects EPCOR’s safety culture, brand, and on-site environment—fostering stronger connections and improved learner engagement.

Interactive activities and scenario-based learning promote active participation and reinforce understanding of key concepts. A final exam verifies that EPCOR’s safety standards are not only communicated but also understood and retained by all learners.

To support efficient delivery and tracking, EPCOR leveraged ProcessLMS™, Dynacor’s learning management system, to launch the online safety orientation. With ProcessLMS, employees and contractors can register and complete training remotely, significantly reducing the time and resources required for in-person onboarding while improving scalability and cost-efficiency.
